June Newsletter 2023

Thank you to everyone for your on-going support and kind generosity.

Following the closure of the share offer on 21st May, we are pleased to announce that the final amount raised from shares was £208,650. We will shortly be issuing share certificates to those who applied during the share offer. As well as the share funding, we have also raised an impressive £13,772 from fundraising events.

The amount of money raised to date is very impressive and we are very grateful. However, we do need to raise more in order to be able to purchase the pub. Whilst we have applied for grant match-funding, the more we can raise through fundraising, the greater chance we have of being able to purchase the pub.

How to Help

Whilst the initial share offer has closed, it is still possible to apply to purchase shares. For further information about how to apply for shares or to make a donation, please visit the How to Help page on our website.

Funding

We submitted an application to the Community Ownership Fund in April and we anticipate receiving the outcome in early-July. We are also exploring other grant funding schemes and other potential funding options.

Business Plan

A review of the Business Plan and other key documents is currently taking place to ensure that the aims, objectives and deliverables meet current stakeholder expectations.

Community Engagement

We feel it is very important that we engage with key stakeholders to ensure we provide a pub and community hub which meets the needs of the community and wider service users. In order to assist us, please can you follow this link to complete the survey. We will also be undertaking a number of listening groups within the community as well as having a suggestions box (the letter box formerly used for the shares, which is attached to the outside of the pub).

Once the survey has been completed, the business plan has been finalised and we have the outcome of the Community Ownership Fund, we will arrange another public meeting to update everyone and provide a further opportunity to ask questions and obtain answers.

Upcoming Events

We have arranged more events to enable us to continue to engage with the community and to raise further funds to assist with the purchase of the pub.
